My name is
Ryan Markley, and I have a 1975 Nova SS. Its not really stock. Its powered by a
Chevy 454ci big block setup for drag, hooked up to a fully race prepped TH 400
auto, and brings around 550 horses to a chopped Ford 9 inch with 33x19.50-15LT
MTs. I've never had it on the strip. This car was built from the ground up by my
uncle, Chuck Brown, about 17 years ago. I believe that this is the car that won
in the West Virginia state championship in 85' or 86'. When my uncle was sadly
killed in a car accident in 87' the car sat in a damp garage for the rest of its
life wasting away to nothing. Finally a year and a half ago I desired to bring
back to life. It was a very hard job considering that I've never turned a wrench
on a car till then., but I was given a lot of help by friends, family, and
complete strangers from a car group I'm now in, The Car Crafters. After a year
and a half of working from a complete mess to complete show stopper has given me
a lot of pride and a whole new outlook on the world of Hotrods and Muscle Cars. |
