Ive had my 72 for about two years, and just started working on it. i put
together a .030 4 bolt 350 block from a 70 z-28. it has a steel crank,
speedway 4340 rods, kb 10.5: 1 flattops, ( normally flattops dont have
this much comp, but there cadillac style, the piston pin s located
further down on the skirt, so the piston rises up in the cylinder more
than a stock flattop would) i had the block line bored, surfaced, and
honed with a deck plate. i have the heads for it. there off of a 69
camaro, 327. they have 2.02"/ 1.60" valves, hardened seats, bronze
guides, cut for bigblock springs, screw in studs, guideplates, sufaced,
gasket matched and bowl blended. i drilled a hole in the block for the
felpro 1003 headgaskets. i also installed a factory "off road special
cam" which i think has the same specs a a 70-71 LT-1 cam. to put the
power through the turbo 400 at the right time, i got a b&m 2400 holeshot
conv., and a street/strip shift kit. hopefully this june, when
americruise comes through lincoln, it'll be runnin.
